If we claim that we make our own handmade shaving accessories, then we do. We are proud of the fact that we only place our PILS shaving logo on self-developed and handmade products and have never tried to buy cheaper mass products. Therefore we know all about our products. We do not want to keep this knowledge completely to ourselves, but we are happy to inform you about selected topics at this point.

Wet Shave

The wet shave is the most thorough method to shorten the stubble. To get a perfect result, the beard hair must first be softened. This is best done with PILS shaving soap, which is whipped into a creamy, firm lather with a shaving brush. You should give the lather 2 to 3 minutes to soften the beard and make the skin smooth. Afterwards, the slightly collapsed lather is whipped again to start shaving immediately. After this preparation, the razor blade gently and deeply cuts through each beard hair without damaging the skin. Afterwards, remove the foam from the face with sufficient water and apply the soothing PILS care products.

Manufacturing

PILS shaving products owe their high quality mainly to the careful and time-consuming production. Our brush maker is one of the few who still master the elaborate craftsmanship of producing a top class brush head from the best badger hair. A metal ring is pushed over the base of the hairs, which have been shaped by hand, and then fixed with a special adhesive. The PILS razors are perfectly matched to standard razor blades and blade systems. Traditional craftsmanship meets state-of-the-art technology: Manual processing of machine-made precision parts makes each product unique. Another masterpiece is the PILS razor stands. Thanks to a sophisticated system, brushes and razors hold very securely. All surfaces are processed until they meet our high standards. These and many other complex work steps clearly distinguish us from other manufacturers.

Materials

The selection of materials for our products is made after careful consideration and examination of which material is the best for the respective purpose. Thus we use only the best hair available on the world market for our shaving brushes. The razors, brush handles and our stands are exclusively made of components that can withstand the daily strain for years and can be replaced if necessary. The brass parts we use are coated with particularly thick layers of real gold or nickel, and we only use the best quality stainless steel and acrylic glass components. We are also specialized in producing individual pieces made of platinum, gold or other precious metals on request.
